HAND STITCHING

As a young child I loved playing with the fabrics in our sewing room. I would delight in the colors and textures of these materials while draping them around my mother’s dress form or making clothes for my doll with basic hand stitching. As a young teen I took lessons on my mother’s new Singer sewing machine and began mending and making my own clothes. Now, more than ever, I am enjoying exploring fragments of fabric in a playful way, unhurried piecing together by hand recollections of a full life.
